What brought everything together and made it work are the stripes on the shirt. I got this shirt from JCrew very long time ago and would double it in a heartbeat if I could found another one. In general, striped button down shirts are nowhere to be find this season. I like jailbird stripes, but value simple striped button downs a lot. They are practical and can add character to any outfit. If you'd like ideas, I posted a bunch of outfits with striped button downs already including in a boyfriend blazer, under a sweater dress, with a vest and tee, under a boyfriend vest, and under a cropped short sleeve blazer.
The necklace I'm wearing is another handmade piece from the old days. I named it Queen Beatrice as I got the queen pendant in the Netherlands around Queen's Day one year. It is coming again at the end of the month and I sure will post an orange outfit head to toe. :)
