Skirt Leggings: A do or a don't?

I started seeing a lot of skirt leggings. I like the one on the left for everyday wear with structured tops, blouses and jackets. The two on the left below make a great alternative to shorts or regular leggings for active wear.

What do you think of this look? Is this too complicated to pair with other clothes?

My Style: Graphic Print #2

If I couldn't convince you before on how graphic prints are a refreshing touch to otherwise plain outfits, here's another post on this trend. I tend to wear small jewelry most of the time, so I use prints and texture as additional details to my style. For accessories, I added grey pearl drop earring/ring combo and a black purse to this look as I was more after the clean and polished look for a family get together.

Below are some inspirational items for creating a similar look...
In my outfit: Jacket: Xcepsion (Bought in Australia, 2005), Flowy Graphic Shirt: Sunny Leigh (2007), Jeans: Guess (2008), Suede shoes: Zara (2009)

Stirrup Leggings: How to style for curvy body types?

- With white button down and a boyfriend blazer: Add a Fedora if you're in your 20's. Again, watch out not to look straight out of 80's. It's 2009!
Do you like stirrup leggings as much as me? How do you wear yours?
Looking at the shop windows, I'm convinced that the stirrup leggings are the new craze in Europe! I'm very excited about this item overall, but I don't quite like how the fashion industry styles them as an alternative to jeans with short tops on super-skinny models. Instead, I like playing with texture and structure to make them the center piece of the look. Here's how I style them:
- With high heels: I feel that the flat shoes don't make these extra long leggings look flattering, except for gladiator sandals. High heels elongate the legs
- Under tunics with wide belts: The belt should be as structured as possible to make the look 2009 if you're not looking for an 80's inspired look.
- With stuctured dresses: I especially like the lace leggings with structured dresses. A very modern combination.
