Keep you feet warm with Pedi-Sox during ped

I recently came across these innovative toeless socks. No more feeling cold when trying to polish your toe nails. Usages of it is not limited to pedicures. These fun colors can be worn with sandals as well making it easy to use for home slippers and flipflops. You can still enjoy your nice pedicure while at home with these during cooler weather. What a great idea!

I love polished toe nails and use bright colors rain or shine. Here are some of my favorite for summer...

New Trend: Floral Headbands

I love a chunky one like the blue headband on the upper left corner on short hairstyles. A flat and impressive one like below looks beautiful on longer hair as below.

What do you think? Is this look for you?
Floral accessories including pins, barrets, handbags and bracelets are a big hit for Spring and Summer 2009. Within all, floral headbands are a pleasant surprise for me. I think the style will pick up even more in Fall with the holiday season.

I already purchased one with a flower and feathers that I love for a night out or to dress up a casual outfit. It feels extra modern with my short haircut. It is also one of the few hair accessories I can use. Mine was a really cheap one and it sure gets me compliments.

I've seen it used fabulously with jean jackets, jersey dresses, skirts and even walk shorts. If you have the means to invest in one romantic accessory this season, I'd say invest in one. You will save dollars and create a romantic look similar to a look with a floral tea dress.

Outfit1: $20.19
Dress, Target - $6.76; Leggings - $4.99; Gladiator Sandals, Target Sale - $4.49 (not so sure, might be ~$6); Scarf as a belt, off the street - $3.95
My favorite personal style website youlookfab.com is having a challenge based on What I Wore Today's $20 challenge. Although I'm not a thrifter (other than original jewelry and handbags), I decided to give it try. Here's how I combined the cheapest in my closet. I would have ideally added some more pieces to these outfits, but I think the outfits still work and I could go out in them if the weather allowed. What do you think? Could you do it with the items in your closet?

Lost button on a blazer? Here's a trick I use...

Have you ever lost the button for your favorite blazer right before you have to leave the house or wanted to update the look of a old jacket with new buttons? It happens to me once in a while. I have a practical trick that I use for exactly this situation.

I have two identical pins that I thrifted couple of years ago. If the jacket has one button, I place the pins on where the button and the buttonhole are as seen in the picture on the left.  In this case, you cannot button your blazer so it's a more sporty look. If the jacket has two button, I remove the second button and secure the pins where the buttons normally are. Since the pins are small enough, they go though buttonholes and look exactly like real buttons.

It's amazing how many compliments this trick gets me. It makes any jacket look more expensive instantly. Below are some more pins that could be used for this purpose. They are reasonably priced so one can get two of them.

Envirosax bags: A cheerful and green option

Amazon.com has a great variety of colors and prints in this brand. I highly recommend checking it out! It's hard to get back to silly plastic bags once you try such an option.
I recently discovered that my favorite resuable shopping bag brand, Envirosax, is now sold at Target. Not my favorite patterns as I like the retro the best, but it is still nice to see them available there. I suggest having a pack of 5 and using them in your car, in your handbag and everywhere you need you need a plastic bag. Too many plastic bags are being used everyday and many animals, especially marine life, is dying because of these plastic wastes. Go green this Spring!
