If you are the Guest:
- Plan your attire according to the dressiness level of the dinner party. A little overdressed is better than under-dressed on such days.
- A sheat dress is a good option for many reasons. You can dress it up and down. This is an eating day so the dress will give you enough room around the waist unlike jeans and pants.
- Accesorize is you don't have a festive dress. A little sparkly pin can turn a simple dress or jacket into an evening wear.
If you are the Hostess:
- Make sure your clothes are comfortable to move, especially not restrictive around the arms and sleeves when you serve. A festive knit top with 2/3 sleeves is generally a great option.
- Flat shoes with sequins are a great dress up option when you have to stand a lot.
- Plan to get done with dinner preparations at least half an hour before guests arrive so that you could change and apply your make up.
- Opt for statement earrings and chokers as long necklaces and bracelets can get in the way around the kitchen.
