Pre-laundry Remix - How often do you wash your clothes?

This was a super casual day with a remix of a bunch of things I've worn recently to re-wear them before washing. Since I try to minimize my washing for environmental reasons, I often wear my clothes in clusters. I have a small part of my wardrobe to lightly worn clothes that are not freshly washed, but also are not dirty enough to be washed. I know it sounds a bit like peeing and non-peeing section of a swimming pool as the clothes share the air, but I air everything I wear for a day before putting them back in and I just don't like the worn clothes touching the unworn.

As you know I like layering with camisoles. The first layer gets washed after every wear, and the second wash mostly gets washed after the second wear. The rest of the layers gets stretched as much as they go.

Do you have a strategy for your laundry? How often do you wash your clothes?

I don't wash everything every wear either - well, of course undies & gym stuff get washed every time. Some stuff is delicate and some stuff is cheapo fabric that would get ruined too quickly if I washed it too often.

I love that top and your purple-inspired outfit!

Aside from undergarments and first layer tanks or tees, I don't wash things until it becomes necessary (sometimes that's not for 5 or 6 wears especially in the cold weather months when I don't do as much sweating). This extends the life of my clothes and is also better for the environment.

Jeans are worn a few times before I wash them; sweaters most definitely as well, unless of course I stain something. I guess I am very anti-green with everything else, besides if I wear an outfit for just a few hours on the weekend or something, I'll just hang those right back up without washing. Of course my kids' clothes get washed all the time - they're boys, they're 2 and 5, they're gross, ha.

Duh, I forgot to mention that I absolutely love that dot-circle print! And the blazer, AND the necklace. Lovely!

Unless an article of clothing is dirty, I don't wash my clothes for 3 or 4 wearings. Also, I always through my outfits onto a chair and let it accumulate and dry out for a week. That way I don't wear something twice in one week and my clothes can air out

Extending the lifetime of clothes is also a good point.

Taylor: Isn't it crazy how kids can generate an amazing amount of laundry daily!
