Legacy of Pearl

I used to like the personalized look of cell phone accessories couple of years ago and got a cute charm on my Blackberry phone. Most of my purses don't have a cell phone section so it also helped me find my phone easier in my purse and distinguish it from similar phones in case friends have similar phones. First I lost the charm and had to ditch the idea completely when I switched to the iPhone. Maybe the sleeves for phones are more the norm these days and I can't say I like the plastic around my phone. Now I have a new regular phone and got a cute charm again. Only to discover that I don't find it so original and cute anymore. What do you think? Is this a passe look? How else do you make sure you get to your phone easily when it rings? Please explain it in comments.
